Here, the warmth of wood benefits from the caress of an emanating glow. 

With it’s carefully arranged, relatively simple geometries, it’s carved from a limb of a Silver Maple tree cut from my yard.  It sat around for a year or so, which allowed a fungus to take root, creating the beautiful dark lines, or “spalting,” a prized look for Maple.
